It all started when Gal Dor told me that the Philippines had been the best and the worst experience of her life.
As I had grown up there, I asked her for details.
Never mind the worst part, but I was really amazed that someone that had grown up in Israel
had been to a place in the Philippines (NIGI NIGI NU NOOS) that she claims was heaven,
and I had never been out of the main island there called Luzon.
Determined that I would see this paradise, I insisted that my father take me there this holiday OR ...
I would go myself (for those of you who know me, I am sure this is not hard to visualize).
My father decided on El Nido, Palawan for various reasons (no point in detailing).
All the while I was thinking .. NIGI NIGI ... but I am not disappointed.
Nigi Nigi Nu Noos is in Boracay which is not far from Palawan but it is a different island all together.
There are three main land masses: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
For the unfamiliar, the Philippines is comprised of 7,000 islands.
I must say that Palawan was one of the best experiences of my life.
I am seriously thinking of giving up New York to be a snorkel (or dive) guide.
Only thing is, I noticed that women only get coordinator jobs and the men get the fun jobs ...hmmmm...
truly the last frontier ... I would love the challenge of changing the policy on that!
